About the HOUSE OF CONNECTIONS
The HOUSE OF CONNECTIONS Guesthouse & the HOUSE OF SELF EMPOWERMENT is a place where it's safe to be your TRUE AUTHENTIC SELF & CONNECT with other like-minded Spirits on their journey towards REMEMBERING their TRUE SELVES! RECENT ENHANCEMENTS at the HOUSE OF CONNECTIONS!

We have an EXCITING / MAGICAL new OUTSIDE MASSAGE AREA surrounded by the sites & sounds of the birds, creek next to it, wind blowing through the trees+!!
One of our biggest intentions is to reach out to people from other countries that have never thought of visiting Costa Rica as well as encourage them to give back on various levels to the people and country!
We have an EXCITING / MAGICAL new OUTSIDE MASSAGE AREA surrounded by the sites & sounds of the birds, creek next to it, wind blowing through the trees+!!
One of our biggest intentions is to reach out to people from other countries that have never thought of visiting Costa Rica as well as encourage them to give back on various levels to the people and country!
In our BEDROOMS/SUITES
Most Rooms/Suites have:
- All "King" Beds have a MEMORY FOAM Mattress Topper making them some of the MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS most of our guests say they have EVER slept in! (like it harder? We can take it off. OR, if one of you wants it hard & the other softer, we can put a twin foam on one side & just the regular mattress on the other! It's whatever YOU desire!!!) (FYI - our experience [& MANY people we've met] of most beds in Latin America is that they usually are VERY HARD!! As a Travel Agent and Travel Writer, MOST I've found and experienced were hard as a rock – NOT what my back likes so we've taken YOUR comfort into consideration!! This is one of the biggest raves from guests!!)
- Plenty of Pillows of at least 4 different firmnesses to choose from (including Memory Foam Contour Pillows)!!!
- Most rooms have 2 Twin beds that can push together to make into a King (with a STRONG strap around it so you don't separate and the above mentioned topper)
- Many have a Tranquil Fountain (if there's not one there, we'll be happy to put one in)
- Sarongs
- Dimmer Switch (for ambiance)
- Night Lite (so you don't get confused in the middle of the night on the way to your bathroom run)
- Candle Holder with a set of candles & matches
- Table & 2 Chairs
- Pitcher of Filtered Water & cups
- Dead Bolt Lock on the Door
- Closet Lock (bring your own small padlock or borrow one of ours)
- LOTS of Closet Space and Hangers (& closets big enough to store your luggage++!)
- Baskets for you to put your goodies in for easy transporting to the bathroom & organizing.
- We even provide you already IN the room an extra blanket & pillows so you don't have to ask!
- Because some people are hyper-sensitive to noise - we can also provide you with FREE Earplugs if the occasional dog barking or neighborhood rooster bothers you.
- Like it really dark? We have Sleeping Masks you can use & in some rooms we can add Blackout Curtains.
- Our rooms are VERY tastefully decorated & matching (novel concept)!
- Each guest gets the use of a Sarong to wear while with us!
- You can borrow a Clock Radio or Boombox if you would like.
- We have tvs & dvd players you can rent for most rooms.
- Category 1 Suites come with sheets at 400++ thread count when paying the Full Regular Rate!
Even in the BATHROOMS we keep that Attention to Details theme
They even have:
- Hot Water (though in working towards Sustainability, we ask you to give us an hour to heat the water)
- GOOD water flow
- Good Shower Heads that you can adjust for the pressure YOU like!
- Most Showers are big enough for 2+!
- 2 Bathrooms have BIDETS!
- Liquid Antibiotic Body Soap in the Showers & Sinks
- Shampoo/Conditioner Combo Dispenser
- Shelf inside the shower so you can put your things on it.
- Mats in the shower so you don't go slipping & sliding on the tile floors.
- With YOUR comfort & safety in mind, we even thought of Rug Mats
- Decent Bath Towels, Hand Towels AND Wash Cloths
- Shelves for you to store your goodies (helping to add to that "I'm home" feeling!!).
- Dimmer Switch
- Blow Dryers in each bathroom
- Curling Iron is available.
- Each room a nice colored Cup that matches your bedroom to put your toothbrush & toothpaste in!
Note - Being a "Tranquil Oasis" - we are NOT a "party" house.
Smoking is ONLY on the Carport & Front Grounds. PEROID - NO EXCEPTION - NO DRUGS on the property (we do not want to be sent back to the States PLEASE!!).
KIDS: Because our main intention is creating a Tranquil environment, our NORMAL policy for kids is that they are 12 & older but after having the precious Noe visiting recently, we will consider kids IF it's VERY last minute, others agree & most importantly, everyone is helping to hold the tranquility (without suppressing the kids natural Spirit & curiosity [which to me is CRUCIAL!!!! Since I believe that kids are here to teach US - NOT the other way around - YET, kids/ALL of us react to the environment we're in so if parents are going through caca - kids will often act out. With that belief, I've NEVER seen a "bad kid" - just lots of kids reacting to their parents "stuff"!!]).
DOGS: Because in the past we've had some less than positive experience from some pet owners & because most dogs WILL pee wherever another dog has in the past (& the previous owner had an inside dog) & because dogs can smell & leave fur behind (not conducive to those with allergies), our NORMAL policy is no pets - BUT, again, because of a recent WONDERFUL experience with Bunny (our friend Josh's dachshund) & 3 other sweet LITTLE dogs he was dog sitting, we've re-evaluate this policy & NOW - EACH situation will be on a case-by-case basis BUT, we WILL have a $100 Pet Deposit. Out of that, at least $25 per week (or less) will be NON-REFUNDABLE so our house cleaner can do a VERY DETAILED cleaning job throughout the house each week you stay (a lot of dog owners don't notice the hair & slobber smells! If YOU would like to do it & it passes our smell/hair test - we'll GLADLY give it all back!) & EVERY TIME an owner doesn't pick up the dogs poop or throw a bucket of water over the pee (dog pee DOES burn the grass), we'll deduct $1 (more if it's messy). This way we're ALL working together & you get to keep your precious pooch close by! One TIGHT RULE (& I don't like to use that word) - NO PETS on ANY FURNITURE PERIOD!!!! On laps is ok but on NO furniture (ESPECIALLY couches & our beds!!).
Because we are a private home & want to protect all our guests, overnight guests are limited to pre-Registered Guests (SOOO NO judgment/NOTHING against the local "workin'" gals & guys, it's just since some of the “working folk” likes to come back another time to “help themselves” to goodies [fyi - just because a place has a name]).
We're NOT an "upscale" property (there aren't many of those IN Costa Rica) & LOVE guests that love & appreciate SERVICE, CONVENIENCE, LOCATION & DETAILS!! If you're seeking something upscale, let us help you find a place!
We are not the property for everyone & soon we will have links to other nearby properties that may work better for you!
